Can Canberrans reach 15,000 active minutes in one day?
Belgravia Leisure is inviting Canberrans to be part of the Move It Canberra Challenge, a city-wide effort to reach 15,000 active minutes in just one day. The challenge is simple—commit to just 30 minutes of movement at your local leisure centre and help the community hit the target.
On Saturday, March 29, Stromlo Leisure Centre, Lakeside Leisure Centre and Canberra Olympic Pool will offer free access to their gyms, pools, and group fitness classes. From yoga and HIIT to aqua aerobics and Les Mills dance, there’s something for everyone to try—whether you're a fitness enthusiast or just getting started.
Beyond the challenge, the event highlights the importance of making health and fitness a part of everyday life. Gold coin donations from any onsite activities will go towards the Belgravia Foundation, a charity dedicated to increasing access to sport, recreation, and wellness programs across the community.
"This event isn’t just about exercise—it’s about coming together as a community. Every active minute counts towards our goal and supports initiatives that enhance the well-being of Canberrans. We encourage everyone to take part, have fun, and make a difference,” says Mat Pole, Belgravia Leisure’s Business Operations Manager for ACT.
Whether you’re jumping, stretching, squatting, or swimming—get your 30 minutes in and help Canberra reach 15,000 active minutes!
